Nad and I had a lazy lazy Wednesday afternoon/evening. After munching on chips and rummaging through my stash of dvds, we got out butts down to watching "The Reader" which I must say, is a really well-crafted story. (honestly, I didn;t like it all that much though). Then we ate and ate more, and lounged in the pool on neon pink bright mattress floats and talked about everything you could possibly imagine. Thank you for a wonderful, chillout day, Nad! :)

And this morning, after a very long and troublesome wait at the US visa office, I HAVE FINALLY GOTTEN MY VISA APPROVED HOOORAH (still have to wait for a bit before I collect my passport but YAY!) I met shu for a very impromptu breakfast at Taka.
I like the feeling of being out in the morning, knowing that there's so much time available still, and I still have the whole day ahead of me and I'm already out of the house, doing something. :)

After lunch with pants today (amazing chicken rice at luck plaza mmm thankyou) I dragged my ass down to starbucks at raffles city along with my big fat laptop with a determined will to get my uni things in order. Or at least get my head around trying to understand the gibberish that is the US uni system (oh hohhh i want to be spoonfed again!)
after buying a venti coffee jelly frappucino, and scooping out all the whipcream because even though I told the barista "no whip cream" my coffee was served with a huge dollop of cream (ewwwww i hate whip cream!), and waited for my very slow and old HP laptop to turn on, and trying very unsuccessfully to get the internet connection going. I found out that.
"sorry, i think our server might be down"

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. and this was after a few other very frustrating series of events so everything combined made me just want to "punch someone" - i quote chye shu wen who was also having a terrible terrible day.

Shu and Nad came to join me at another starbucks (with working wifi YAY!! and available plugs for my dying battery) and we complained and whined and fretted and drank coffee and ate and made what was left of the day all good again.
Thank you, you two.

Thursday - Pheobe came over and we made apple crumble and polished off the whole pan of it while watching Amelie. Jean Pierre Jeunet is an amazing director. I love the colors he uses, the contrasts, how he makes everything seem so fantastical and so whimsical. I love love love it. and then we watched A Very Long Engagement which was also amazing.
I love audrey tatou, and gaspard (beautiful, absolutely beautiful)
French movie day FTW! So those two movies have jumped onto my favourite movie lists. I want to watch all of his films!

Friday- Met up with Des and Nad in the early evening/ late afternoon for some 'end of season sale' shopping and I didn;t buy anything UNTIL the two of them left.Ohhh you weak weak weak resolve woman, you.
and then it was Family dinner at Fifteen Minutes. I have this habit of being so excited about a place I love that I just have to visit it again, and again. And we ordered everything I wanted/ wanted to try. fish and chips, chefs burger, pepperoni pizza, spaghetti 15minute style and chicken wings!
THe place is really different at night, compared to when we went during lunch time. It's dinner, they play house/trance/electro music, they service alcohol, no sandwiches or cupcakes or smoothies, a bigger portion during dinner time, it's waiter/waitress service no counter service like last time. I still prefer it during lunch time though, I love cafe style and how it's so laidback and chillaxx.

I drove myself to SAFTI (yay and I am very proud of that!) to pick Shannon Tay up and we drove back to his place to spend time with the Tay family. Shannon jumped onto his bed face first after getting home "ahhh my bed.."
Took a spontatneous past midnight drive to Marina Barrage and took a walk around the place. It's so peaceful and cooling at night. :)
we almost died on the way there though (scary scary scary roads and drivers, aka me)
I love having a licence, it's so amazingly convenient.

Saturday was Transformers day! (sorry I fell asleep in the cinema)
and lots and lots of food day too.
At night we took a drive down to ECP and drove through carls junior because I really wanted to do a drive in ride just once at least. It started pouring so we parked our car and had dinner in the backseat!

Mmmm. And drove down to town to catch the night festival (it was wet and crowded and humid and I am short so I couldnt really see much) but at least we got to see a bit of explosives and fireworks and free entry to the NSM! :)

Now, I'm just bummed that the weekend is over.
